It's time...NLMS is set to go back into the studio to start work on a 3-song EP!

We found a cool spot to record in Germantown above an old fabric factory...tons of room, old guitars and amps and a cool engineer who is going to record us, tracking mostly live.  While we love our first two records, we miss the feeling we get of a live show.  So, we're going to go in and cut the tracks live.  Maybe a bit of studio magic on top, but we want to get the basic sound of our music live on tape.

So, look out!  It will probably be a little bit until its released...but we have a few cool ideas that will likely proceed its release.  Can't speak to that now, but some new material will be out shortly...

Big News...NLMS is up for consideration of a Grammy Nomination for "Last Great Saturday Night"...in the "Best Americana Album" Category!  Now before everyone get's their Tivo out just yet, we still have to get officially nominated, which entails beating out the other 125 bands up for the 5 spots in the Category.  So, we'll see...but either way, its pretty great.  The album should get some listens by some music lovers around the country, big shots or not.  And who knows?  It's an honor, nonetheless and we feel pretty honored to have been chosen to be up for consideration by the Grammys.  So, we're keeping our fingers and toes crossed...

Either way, I'm getting my tux out of hock and getting it pressed and ready...I hope my seat is close to Dave Grohl's!  He always seems to win.  With my luck, I'll get a seat right next to Celine Dion!

XPN's The Key thinks NLMS is just what the doctor ordered for summer! "California", a yet-to-be-released gem, was included on the Key Studio Sessions' Summer Mixtape...and just so you know, we agree! A cool local Philly internet radio station, Gashouse Radio (gashouseradio.com), has picked NLMS as their Artist of the Week. They should be highlighting us all week and right now I'm checking them out (waiting to see what they say about us, the album and our upcoming show at World Cafe Live tomorrow night, 4/13). There might be a few other people out there listening beside me, too.

Just wanted to catch everyone up on all things NLMS. The band has been going insane with new dates. I haven't put them all up yet, but we're playing almost every week in the next few months...World Cafe, Brooklyn, club shows, radio shows, summer festivals, you name it! We're starting to need a manager to keep all this shit straight...too much for a bunch of musicians to hold together.

But, have no fear, we'll keep it one piece...

So, the upcoming week is going to be great. We've got a big show this Wednesday, 4/13 at World Cafe Live. The next night, we head to Brooklyn to play Union Hall with our friends, Apollo Run. Here's some NY press in anticipation of the show:

NLMS is busy! The next few months are shaping up to be a busy time for the band. A bunch of shows have been booked for April, May and June with a few still pending. Keep checking the Calendar for new shows to be added as I get all the information. It evens looks like NLMS will be making their NYC debut very soon!

Also, I just put up some new music from our recent Y-Rock Key Session, which can be streamed or downloaded. 2 new videos from our M Room show are also up in the Videos section, including "California"...a new tune that we think is going to be great!

Thursday night, March 17th...NLMS will be played on Y-Rock's The Philly Local Second Shift, right at the start of the 10 p.m. hour...we go in on Tuesday to record 4-6 songs live with John Vettese. Should be our first radio interview, too!

The Y-Rock Session will air Thursday night (3/17) on Y-Rock...

NLMS has also been added to the new music roster at Gashouseradio.com, a really cool web radio station in Philly. Listen all this week at 6 PM as we will be played during their new music hour! And, please VOTE for us!

Hope to see everyone at the M Room on March 23rd w/ The Whispering Tree. We've got a bunch of new stuff...Jamie has gone all electric and NLMS is rocking more than ever before.

Lots coming up for NLMS fans!

First off, NLMS is set to play on March 23rd at the Mroom (Manhattan Room) on Girard Ave. w/ The Whispering Tree.

In advance of the show, we're booked to record 4 songs at XPN Studios w/ John Vettese for a YROCK Key Session. The songs, and a likely first-ever NLMS radio interview, will be aired March 17th on Y-Rock and posted on XPN's "The Key," a great, great local music site.

A couple things in the works...we hope to be making our second music video shortly, which may also coincide with a possible residency. So, keep your eyes peeled and ears perked, because they'll be plenty of NLMS to come!

Hey...

Welcome to NLMS' website. It's still a fledgling website, plenty of work to be done. But, we're happy to be able to give everyone a place to go for all things NLMS. We'll try to keep this sight current with show dates, news and all current media (videos, demos, etc.). So, keep visiting as we hope to put new content on the website often.

We're really proud of our newest record, "Last Great Saturday Night." And, we want everyone to hear it. NLMS is just a little band from Fishtown/Philly but we've been at it for awhile and love what we put out into the world. And we want to hear from you guys, so feel free to write us.
