with...

April Mae & The June Bugs

The idea of April Mae & The June Bugs started as a musical fantasy on the night of a blue moon. Somewhere on the side of a mountain in Boone, NC...After April's ramblings into the deep south while on mini-tours with her blues-fusion group South Saturn Delta. As lead vocalist and songwriter, along with Dave 'Catfish' Fecca, April and Dave toured Memphis, Mexico and were 2009 Emerging Artist finalists at the King Biscuit Blues Festival in Helena, Arkansas. Their original songs enjoying airplay nationally and internationally, while receiving CD reviews in France, Germany, Belgium and Norway. No small feat for these South Jersey born natives.
As I was sayin'...All this ramblin' down south inspired April to dig deeper into American Roots music, adding rockabilly, swing, gospel, bluegrass and boogie influences to her deeply rooted blues style. When close friend, cigar-box guitar builder and songwriter, Gerry Thompson invited April Mae and Catfish to quickly fill an opening on his NJ Cigar Box Festival bill...The stage was set!
Hankering after the idea of indulging in a rootsy, spunky, eclectic set...Featuring upright bass! April invited upright bassist and songwriter JJ Culpepper fill the gig. JJ had impressed both April and Dave with his expressive and exceptional musicianship. April Mae & The June Bugs was born.

Not My Dogg

Not My Dogg unleashes a highenergy, electroacoustic mix of New Orleans funk, Latin and AfroCuban party music and blues and Indy folk rock.

Featuring Performances by:
Casey Neil // The Weeds // North Lawrence Midnight Singers // Lily and the Tigers // Ben Cady

Casey Neil (Portland, OR)
http://www.caseyneill.org/ Casey Neill's career has always walked the line between lyrical song craft and ferocious electric live shows. His new album, “Goodbye to the Rank and File” ups the ante, bringing the power of his stage performances into the studio like never before.

This is the first recording to feature the full Norway Rats lineup which includes members of the Decemberists, Lucinda Williams Band, The Eels and Minus 5 -- Little Sue (vocals, acoustic guitar), Chet Lyster (guitar), Ezra Holbrook (drums), Hanz Araki (vocals, flute), Jesse Emerson (bass), and Jenny Conlee (piano, accordion). “Goodbye to the Rank and File” was recorded throughout the fall of 2009 & the winter 2010 with help from friends like R.E.M. touring musician Scott McCaughey & Talkdemonic's Lisa Molinaro, and produced by Ezra Holbrook. The final result combines post-punk energy, narrative storytelling, haunting ballads, and whiskey-fueled rave-ups with clear-cut influences by Richard Thompson as well as Hüsker Dü and The Clash.

Ben Cady
http://www.bencady.com/_/Index.html Ben Cady is one guy recording music all by his lonesome in a homemade studio in Kensington, Philadelphia. He hasn't played many shows but when he does, is usually accompanied by his longtime friend, musical collaborator and overall solid-gold guitar artist Percy Rosales. His influences are Townes Van Zandt, Hank Williams (Jr. & Sr.), The Pastels, Elliott Smith and all members of The Highwaymen. Not that he sounds likes any of these musical gods but man can dream. In a past life he was in the bands Ancient Justice and The Ghosks.

Union Hall

NLMS opens for Apollo Run and Delta Rae - 7:30

702 Union Street
Brooklyn New York 11215
US (718) 638-4400
Price: $10

Apollo Run invites NLMS to open on the 2nd week of their residency at Union Hall in Brooklyn:

Apollo Run: "The group merits far more widespread attention than it's received thus far" says NPR's Song of the Day about Brooklyn's three piece indie group Apollo Run. With the release of Here Be Dragons Volume 1 in October 2010, their first EP in a series of three, these newcomers are prepared to prove them right, with an album boasting six songs that are both viscerally moving and musically varied. John McGrew, Graham Fisk, and Jeff Kerestes bring a musical aptitude and inherent fluency in music theory to every note, making for fantastic pop songs that are both smart and moving. The proof is in the pudding: an Apollo Run live show means a packed venue with a mixed crowd with one common denominator- everyone is frankly addicted to the band's catchy yet complex songs, and they're there to get their fix by singing along.

Delta Rae: "Fresh out of the Bull City with a sound that recalls gospel choirs and big-vintage pop, Delta Rae welcomes summertime with soulful sounds that ring of timeless pop greats." - The Daily Tar Heel
